Koester Nature Preserve Adventures

Koester Nature Preserve is a large protected area located near St. Joseph, Missouri, managed by the Missouri Department of Conservation. The preserve occupies 495 acres and features a range of ecosystems, including tallgrass prairies, hardwood forests, and upland glades. There are no developed campgrounds within the preserve, so day use is encouraged. Accessibility is good with parking available at several trailheads.
